Yucky!

I got sick yesterday.. 

thankfully.. around 5pm tonight, the sickness went away. It has been horrible. But i'm happy now :)

Happy Time.

These past few weeks, I've seen how money can have so much power over a person. To the point where they obsess over it. I hate money. I hate how it can destroy a home, a family, a marriage. I'm so grateful that I have a job that pays me enough that I can pay my bills and such. I just hope that I never get to the point where i'm obsessing over money, and that it becomes my biggest stress in life. EVER.

I also think we need to remember the true meaning of Christmas. I see these crazy shoppers out buying gifts and wanting to get everything and anything for their family. I understand that it is part of the Christmas tradition to open presents and such. But, when did we start letting kids think that they have to have more than one or two presents underneath the tree? We should all be grateful that we even a have a tree, a house, a home, food. I see how spoiled kids are and it disgusts me. Seriously. I hear parents say, "I can't let my kids go without on Christmas!!"... go without? without what? Go without a toy to open up and use for a week and then forget about it?

I don't understand those people. I never will. I hope that when I become a mom, that I am able to teach my kids that Christmas isn't about presents, It's about our Savior. I don't want my kids to become obsessed with how big their gift is or how many gifts they have under the tree.. I want them to have the feeling of wanting to give to others who are truly going without on Christmas Day.

Now on to a happier note :)

I've been a little down these past few days and one thing that ALWAYS cheers me up is music. The power of music is amazing. 

But as I was flipping through my iPod, I realized that the majority of the songs on there make me think of a person or experience. And those people probably have no idea that I think about them every time that certain song comes on! So I'm going to flip through my iPod now and jot down the song and who/what it makes me think of :) deal? Ok. GO!

17 Years Later..

& we're still friends :)

This is Lauren Mary Morrison.

She is my best friend. We met when we were 3 years old and haven't separated since. We met in our gymnastics class, Wanna know how? I will tell you. 

I was practicing my head-stand. Our instructor was holding my feet up in the air.. so basically my behind was facing her face. Anyways, I let one rip. ( ya know.. a fart ) and Lauren started laughing. You would think I would be mad at her for laughing, but no, we became friends. All due to a simple toot :) I used to go over to Lauren's house every day after school (1st-3rd) and we would watch Arthur and Full House. It was amazing. We made up dances to Brittney Spears songs and performed them on a regular basis. We were part of the 'Flipper Club' and did shows. 

she's the friend that calls me and will say " Hey.. so, I'm craving ice cream again.. will you come?" and even though its the first blizzard of the season and no one is out and its 9pm, I say yes :) Lauren is the friend that always offers me milk at her house because she knows that just what we do, and of course.. I will never turn down a nice cold class of milk.. remember when we used to pretend you were a bartender? 

Lauren is always willing to listen to me when I give her a random call during the day/night. She's the girl who's been there through everything and understands why I do the things I do. We used to get in retched fights.. but now, we're mature young ladies & we have discussions :) I love our annual Rio trips when she comes home. 

 

This girl is the friend that is leaving me. It's bitter sweet. I couldn't be more excited for her, but I also feel like a mother and my child is leaving! I'm so nervous for her and I know i'm going to worry about her constantly. It's going to be weird having her so far away.. OH, where is she going you might ask?

North Carolina will be her new home. Look at how beautiful it is there. she's so lucky! I'm truly going to miss her though... She's my best friend and I love her. 

I love you Lauren! Thanks for always being there. Thanks for always loving me for me. You are truly great :)

This is my dear friend Katie Martin. 

Where do I start about this woman. 

One thing that I absolutely love about her, is that she is truly content with who she is and doesn't care what others think. I want to be like her. Another thing, she's an AMAZING writer. Truly amazing. I was honored to be one of the first to read her book. Which was so gooooood!!! Seriously, check it out. I love her videos on YouTube.. I've missed them. Tremendously. She's so talented with her voice and the instruments! She always makes me feel so loved and wants to know about my life and all the boyfriends that i've stolen from her :)

I'm sad we only started getting to be close friends our senior year, but i'm also grateful that I was able to meet such an amazing individual. Even if it was later in life :) I Love you Katie! And I'm extremely excited to see you over the break. Be ready for my story  ;)

Nathan Chandler!

 This little sexy man here is my friend Nathan. We haven't known each other for very long. But you would never guess it. Nathan is a very caring person. He's great with kids! So great! He was such a big help to me when I first started working at the Center with him. I love that he likes to wear Argyle ( above ) and dress.. "saucy". As he would call it. He's very classy, and will let you know it :) I love that we go to Olive Garden with friends, I feel grown up when we do that... Although he did get sick the last time.. I don't know if we'll be going there anymore with him. Dang Salad! I love that we have an inside joke about "shimmy-ing" whenever a certain someone at work walks by.. or just whenever we want to. He's been nice to me all this time, and is always willing to listen to me ramble on and on. He's a pretty great guy and has a great personality. He loves Glee about as much as I do.. and I'm pretty sure that could be reason we're so close :)

Well Nathan, I love you man. And I'm so excited that we were FINALLY introduced so I didnt have to keep listening to Cass  & Julie talk about you and I didnt know who you were! :) I'm so happy we work together and can be saucy together. You're a great friend to me and I know we'll be friends for a long while :)

My friend Oj Yma :)

  This is my dearest Peter Pan brother. She's quite amazing. One of the things I love most about her is that she is an AMAZING...cook? chef? Ya know, she's good with the cookin' of the food :) One time, she tried 'teaching' me how to make, Cordon bleu.. i think thats how you spell it? Anyways, I sorts helped haha but it was so delicious! If I was her roommate.. It would be like eating at a restaurant every day! She's a fabulous friend and is willing to talk to me at midnight about my crazy night... I'm very grateful for that. She always makes me feel loved and I know she truly cares about the things I tell her. She's a great listener. She's one of the nicest people I know. Even when we do have our... well, i don't want to say "bashing sessions" but.. when we have certain topics to talk about.. she still sounds nice.. I need to work on that :) I hope that made sense? haha! She's the only person who has ever dedicated a whole picture album to me on Facebook. WE enjoy having matching shirts and 

And one of our favorite hobbies is when I draw pictures of her with my boogies on a tree :) She's one of the two people that I feel comfortable enough sending recordings of myself singing and playing the guitar via phone. And I know she'll like it and not make fun of my mediocre skills :) This girl truly is amazing and is such a great friend and she is going to go great places in life.. even though she's already been to Italy :P haha! She will always be a close friend of mine, and I'm excited for her to come home for Christmas :)

Where we keep up with our friends and their lives.
Where we learn who's dating, who broke up, and who's in a "complicated" or "open" relationship.
Where we stalk people we want to add, but it would be weird if we did.
Where we update people on what it is we did eat for lunch that day.
Where we look at other people's photos wishing we had that fun of a night.
Where we choose a profile picture that best compliments our features :)
Where we can remember people's birthday's and can write on their wall instead of send or text or, heaven forbid, pick up the phone and make a call.
Where some people, (not I), spend more than an hour playing a game about farm animals or ninjas.. or fish.
Where you can 'poke' someone.. and its not considered dirty..
Where we can talk to people around the world in an instant.
Where you can "hide" someone and be okay with it.
Where everything becomes "official."
Where the biggest dis of all time is being 'deleted'.
The only way that we are able to tell everyone about anything we want...

I hate it all.
But I love it all.

1. I don't do drama.
2. If you get mad over something on Facebook... You are retarded. Seriously.
3. There will never be a "sarcasm" font on Facebook, which is quite disappointing, but true. So you can't take everything so literal. If you do.. you will get mad, and then I will not like you.
4. You can't get mad at someone for posting something on THEIR facebook.. its theirs, so you cant change it. If you don't like it.. chose to ignore it... or hide them ;)
5. (My final point) When you get deleted as a friend, and you throw a fit about it.. My first thought it, Hmmm if this is something you're getting worked up about, you have a bigger issue here... the fact that facebook is becoming your life and when you get deleted its all you can think about..

Friends... don't get so involved in social networking. I think we're losing valuable time that can be spent in the real world. Yes, I love facebook, I love keeping up on people's lives. But let's not let it consume us.

-Satan is getting people to live in a virtual world without a body.. the same way he lives without a body.-

I'm not saying get rid of it. Just don't become obsessed. It's not attractive or healthy.  And.. please please! Do not get mad over it.. there are bigger issues in the world. Waaaayyy more important things to worry about than who is your friend on FB and who's not.

My first really close friend to get married & amazing it was! Truly a beautiful bride, Wade is seriously one lucky dude. 

Look at her! Amazing! I've "known" Karly since we were the age of 4, we did dance together.. I know, cute! But we went to elementary school together and started hanging out in middle school & basically never stopped! Karly is one of the funniest girls i've ever met. She knows how to make you laugh and how to make any situation awkward... ANY situation. She was the one friend who always had the boyfriends and all that jazz. She is my mother in all of my pictures... really though, she looks like mom in every picture we take together. Well.. she doesnt look like my mom, she looks like she could be my mom.. does that make sense? She'll understand. I love when we would go on our photo shoots with her, always an adventure. She's pretty gifted with that whole camera, photography, stuff! Another thing she's good at? Blogging! Her blog is so cute but so incredibly CUUUTE! She's great with kids and I just love her to death. Always has been there for me, and even though she's a married woman now.. I know she'll always be there for me :)

It's the new thing.

So I decided that every post I do for the next while is going to be dedicated to one of my bestest friends :) Since I have so many... haha! But I just want to show my appreciation for them and tell them how great they really are and how much I love them and such. Shall we? ( In no particular order, I might add )


I am grateful for Miss Allison Gardner :)

This girl is truly amazing. One of the nicest people I know. She's always there for me. We share the same sense of humor.. which is a very good thing. We laugh over the same ridiculous things. We know that we're smart enough to live in this place called America.. because we can drive :) We've been friends since 6th grade, and we plan on being friends foreverrrrr. She never judges me for the stupid things I do. And she is always willing to listen to me ramble on about my so-called pathetic life :) One thing that I love about her is that, she always has new music to let me listen to! She's quite the music junky, in a good way of course. We took our very first road trip together a few months ago, and it was truly amazing. It didn't surprise me that we could entertain ourselves for 9 hours in a car. I could never get sick of this woman. She is so caring. And loving. She'll come to my ex-s wedding with me, knowing that it will probably be one of the most awkward experiences ever. Thats a true friend :) We sometimes talk in accents and have fake conversations about going to the grocery store and getting hit on... We also love Toytles! I love that she plays the ukulele and posts videos on Facebook for all of us to see! I love when she sends me recordings of her playing.. because she's amazing! She'll deny it and say "Whatever! I do the same strumming pattern for every song.." But trust me... she's good! Another thing I love about her? She looks gorgeous with no make up, I am truly jealous of that. haha! She's been there for me whenever I cry over dumb things.. and serious things. And unless she's working, or with a boy, she always answers her phone when I call because I usually have some dumb story to tell her :) But the great thing? She always has one to share with me too! Woot! Oh.. and our favorite color is the same... Orange! We are truly the best of the best and I doubt that will ever change!
